New (ish) Fever Ray Video

Posted: August 1st, 2009 | Author: danieljosef | Filed under: New Video, Uncategorized | No Comments »

A close friend recently discovered Fever Ray. I’ve had the album floating around for the last 5 months but never really got into it. I love it. Almost as much as I love her main band The Knife. It’s probably my favourite album of the year this far. Watch their video for When I Grow Out taken from her debut below. It’s freakin’ amazing.

Fever Ray play Kool Haus on Friday October 2nd. Tickets are a bit pricey ($34) and are on sale now. I’m pretty sure I’ll be attending.

New Peaches Video

My favourite and the original electro queen Peaches has released a new video for the track Lose You, taken from her latest album I Feel Cream.  I love that she’s embraced singing on her new album (instead of her usual smut-filled rapping).  She sounds incredible.

Watch La Roux’s new video for Bulletproof below.  Love this song.  They are rumoured to be back in Toronto at the end of July.  Should be a great show.  Their self-titled album is slated for release on June 29th in the UK, June 30th in North America.

Check out the vids below.  I don’t know, their performance of Zero was a little uninspired, maybe they were for nervous.

Osheaga Music and Arts Festival, which takes place in Montreal has confirmed its initial line-up for 2009.  The festival takes place Saturday August 1st and 2nd at parc Jean-Drapeau and will feature sets by Coldplay, Beastie Boys, The Decemberists, Arctic Monkeys, Girl Talk and Crystal Castles.

Tickets are available right now via their website for $125 for a two-day pass, $295 for a VIP pass (which includes a VIP enterance, access to a VIP grandstand, VIP food concessions and private bathrooms) and single day tickets for $75.  Seems as if the festival is piggy backing off All Points, which happens the same weekend in Jersey (many of the bands are playing both festivals).
